Guilford Courthouse Historic Trail

Tali Tak Taki. The old General Greene’s Order of the Arrow Lodge, built this 6.5 mile trail located in Lake Brandt Marina (see map), is now operated by the Old North State Council’s Tsoiotsi Tsogalii Lodge.

The trail begins at the Lake Brandt Marina, and follows an old railroad bed for about two miles before leading to the Military Park Visitor’s Center where a short film is shown. The trail then follows about a 4.5 mile loop before ending back at the Visitor’s Center. Cub Packs or units that wish to hike a shorter distance may begin the trail at the Visitor’s Center.

There is a Guilford Courthouse Trail Award offered by the Old North State Council to Scouts who view the short orientation film at the Visitor’s Center, hike the trail and complete the questionnaire and have it signed by a Park Ranger. There is a seperate form for Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.  Historic Trail Award patches and medallions are available at the Council Service Center for $5 each.

The Visitor’s Center is located off of US 220 towards Greensboro. North of Greensboro US 220 becomes Old Battleground Road. The Visitor’s Center is off New Garden Road just east of the Old Battleground-New Garden intersection.
